How do you build meaningful partnerships as a founder? I know I've been guilty of sending partnership agreements in hopes of the best In this episode of How I'm Building This podcast, Alex Witcpalek, the founder of Continuum AI, shares his unconventional path from playing football at the University of Louisville to working in commercial real estate and eventually joining the tech industry. Here are some sound bites from our conversation: ✔️"I'm going to build something on my own and I'm going to build it so that not only do I have a better life, but there's families that don't have to go through what we're going through." ✔️"We have so much pipeline that if we close this, I need to build a team to be able to go deliver it." ✔️"You need to be very upfront and transparent with your partner and have a plan together to cross pollinate your go-to-market motions." ✔️"We became thought leaders and our content now drive sour partner channel." ✔️"I don't think you can silo outbound partner and marketing, because we do a lot of partner marketing together too." I'm no fan of Industry Conferences - the full effort required to make the juice worth the squeeze rarely occurs...TechCrunch Disrupt is an exception to my rule. I shared the staged with 3 absolute professionals within the Space Industry discussing insights related to early-stage companies supporting the dual markets of Government and Commercial. Here are a few takeaways: 1) We have an obligation to engage government at the policy level 2) Market focus is critical to our growth and to returning value to our investors 3) Tech innovation is assumed while GTM talent is required Aria Alamalhodaei expertly moderated our panel which along wth me, included Debra Emmons (The Aerospace Corporation) and True Anomaly CEO, Even Rogers. We missed having Space Workforce For Tomorrow chief (and Slingshot Aerospace co-founder) Melanie Stricklan on the stage to share in the discussion. Nikki Carney and I are beyond excited to share that The Missing Piece App has been selected to join Cohort II of Latimer House! 🎉 In October, we’ll be heading to Baltimore, ready to embark on this transformative journey with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We’ve faced setbacks—missing out on another accelerator, losing key members of our team, and even having to pause development. 2024 has been full of incredible highs and really tough lows, but the mission remains clear : get 1,000,000 families who have children on the autism spectrum the resources they need. Starting on October 1st, we’re ready to dive in and push our startup to new heights with the support of this incredible program. A big thank you to Latimer Ventures Luke Cooper , Microsoft for Startups Kaiser Permanente , Abell Foundation Inc and the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) for making this opportunity possible. And if you are a parent or autism service provider that would like to be on our platform, work with us for our upcoming Autism Mom’s night out in Miami , or participate in a questionnaire please comment here or message me. We’re looking forward to the journey ahead and can’t wait to see what’s next. Let’s make it happen! To God be the glory. #blacktech #blackintech #blacktechfounders #techfounders #saas #womenownedbusiness #womenintech #changingtheworld #techforchange #revolutionary #autism

Skills Development for founders is essential. We think because they have a great idea that somehow they know how to run a business to achieve it, but as Debbie Irwin points out, many times they are lost and drowning in the business part of things. They have not been prepared to tackle HR, Finance, Sales, etc… they need our help to transform from knowledgeable domain experts to business owners.

💡 Lightbulb Moment Alert! 💡 We started as a professional services company focused on cost estimating and advisory, but everything changed thanks to Capital One's Catapult program in 2017. 🚀 Selected as one of the inaugural 10 companies, we quickly learned a game-changing lesson: Capital One isn't just a bank—they're a tech powerhouse using AI and machine learning to revolutionize banking. That's when it hit me: we needed to think like a tech company too. Curious about how this insight transformed our approach and drove innovation at Construction Check? Check out our journey and the powerful role AI plays in our success! #CapitolOne #ConstructionCheck #InnovationInBusiness #MachineLearning #AiTransformation

As the first Intelligent Gift Documentation Management Platform, the Givzey team is constantly fielding questions from gift administrators about how they should enter gifts, record pledge fulfillment, or handle specific complex scenarios. We absolutely love that Givzey has come to be known as a top resource for all gift documentation questions. We recognized that while Givzey delivers the world's most innovative gift documentation software, sometimes members of the nonprofit community need more than tech – sometimes they just need answers that they don't have to go searching for. In the true nature of being a great partner for the nonprofit sector, we launched Givzey Guidance as a central library that anyone can learn from or ask questions of and expect a fast and direct response for free. We expect to use Givzey Guidance to inform the community we serve so organizations can book gifts with confidence that they align with auditing and financial standards.

At Civitech, one of the main things that we do is research around helping more people vote. And we are particularly interested in what keeps people from registering in the first place. Some simple examples are: - moving to a new state with different laws - becoming a new citizen and not having previously voted - turning 18 and nobody explaining it to you. 62% of people who are not registered say that no one has ever asked them to register, but they would be interested. Join us tomorrow to hear Lisa Orr talk about navigating your next career move as a senior product manager, and me talking about the "mirage" of AI hallucinations. When artificial intelligence (AI) outputs don’t match our shared reality, people have been saying it’s "hallucinating." But hallucination makes it sound like AI is conscious and distracts from the part we humans play in generating synthetic meaning. Do words matter? Learn why we should all change how we talk about AI to promote better understanding in a future world with the ✨sparkling intelligence✨ of AI.

When we launched Scout, we leveraged a third party tool called Partner Fleet. The use case for their product wasn't an economic development and site selection marketplace. But they were amazing partners and we made it work. Since then, Lucas Wiley completely rebuilt our platform. Now, our public (and free) platform (Scout Explore) showcases the best states and cities for business. Employers and Selectors use our site to find: ✅ City/State Economic Overviews ✅ Target Industries ✅ Economic Development Team Contact Info ✅ State and Local Incentive Data ✅ Key Tax Data ✅ Reviews from Local Employers ✅ Industrial Real Estate economic developers use our platform to: 🙌 showcase their community 🙌 use employer reviews to build trust 🙌 list industrial real estate 🙌 attract new biz and retain existing biz So much more coming from Scout. I’ll be sharing the details over the coming weeks. To give you a sneak peak, we’ll have profiles/data for: ⭐️ Industrial Builders ⭐️ Incentives ⭐️ Site Selectors ⭐️ Utility Companies Scout Explore is just one step in the Site Selection and Incentive Discovery Process. But there’s many more pieces to the puzzle. Stay tuned. explore.scoutcities.com

"Jeff Bezos recently said, 'AI is an enabling layer that can be used to improve everything. It will be in everything.' I couldn’t agree more. This week, I had the privilege of discussing Innovation and AI with Ginnie McDevitt and her Vistage groups, NJ Key 9461 and NJ CE 344. Together, we explored the near-term future of agentic AI, AI prompt crafts—including contexts, excellence anchors, frameworks, and layered prompt illustrations—while diving deep into innovation strategies like the Doblin method, ideation for growth, competitive analysis, hiring requirements packages, and more. Each Vistage group has a unique culture and dynamic, and these engaging conversations made the experience inspiring and worthwhile. It was a joy to see leaders embrace these forward-thinking concepts. Thank you, Ginnie and the groups, for the energy and thoughtfulness you brought to our discussions. I look forward to seeing how these insights shape your journeys ahead!! #Vistage #Innovation #AI #Leadership #Growth"

🎧 Thrilled to bring you my latest conversation with MP Eisen, VP of Partnerships at Glean, from the Google Cloud Marketplace Exchange! Glean is redefining the way enterprises access and utilize internal data, creating an "enterprise work assistant" that operates like an internal search engine, helping users find strategic insights, project updates, and account-specific information. MP shares Glean's journey as a Google Cloud partner, from their first Marketplace listing in 2023 to a rapid trajectory that’s driven millions in consumption. Their approach? A laser focus on aligning Glean’s offerings with Google’s value propositions, from compute to Vertex AI’s Gemini, resulting in a partnership that has rapidly scaled across multiple industry segments. Key takeaways from MP’s insights: -Clear Product-Partner Alignment: Ensuring Glean’s product naturally drives value for Google’s sellers and customers, particularly by tapping into incentives like quota retirement through Marketplace transactions. -Focused Market Approach: Instead of broad targeting, Glean zeroes in on specific industries, regions, and segments, building success one focused area at a time—a strategy that’s amplifying their presence within Google’s ecosystem. -Upstream Conversations: AI is shifting conversations to the C-suite, making executive buy-in critical for enterprise-wide adoption, with CIOs and CEOs seeing the transformational impact of AI in operations. Listen in on The Ultimate Guide to Partnering to learn how Glean is setting new standards for leveraging marketplace and hyperscaler partnerships! Watch here:https://lnkd.in/g2DMaYHr
